Amazon.com Product Description:
Bulky stereo systems are fast becoming relics of an earlier century, especially with speakers such as Sony’s SRS-P11Q on the market. These passive speakers are designed to connect to a portable audio system, such as a CD Walkman or MP3 player, yet still deliver the same clear, vivid tones as much larger speakers. In the meantime, the 2-1/4-inch speaker bodies fit unobtrusively on a bookshelf, dresser, or desk, and also store compactly in a backpack or suitcase when on the move. The speakers are lightweight and distinctive, with circular shapes and small bulbous feet that keep them from tipping over. Listeners with a flair for accessorizing will appreciate the interchangeable white and silver faceplates, which lets people match the speakers to their players.
The speakers’ audio derives from the 57 mm damper-less neodymium magnets, which produce a frequency response between 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The passive speakers also require no batteries, making them ideal for traveling or tailgating. The system comes with a stereo mini plug input and features 4 watts of maximum input power (2 watts x 2).

Do the job by Grant Fritchey
I purchased these little speakers to go with the Philips NP1100/37 Streamium Network Music Player with 3.0″ B&W Display. With these little speakers tied into that unit, we would have music anywhere around the house.
They worked well together. The volume from such a small set of speakers is just fine although they wouldn’t blast out to a hundred people in a large garden party. The sound quality is good, if just a bit tinny. It’s that lack of bass that brings down the rating. Othewise, these have worked out nicely.
Little Speakers by Lady
These cute little speakers are as nice as it gets for portable speakers with no external power source. They sound a little “small” but the quality of the sound is not bad. I wouldn’t recommend them to play live performances where the sound isn’t super crisp, but on most music recordings, I think they are more than adequate. Not too expensive, and they have a normal headphone jack, so they might be used with many different music players. They are a little bigger than I expected, but they do have a small footprint, so they fit well on a desk or counter.
Great little compact speakers by RanCat815
These speakers have a surprising pleasing sound compared to many others the same size. The volume output is just fine for one’s personal enjoyment. I use it with my I-pod Nano and portable CD player in lieu of headphones, on the terrace. They were not designed to fill a dance hall with sound, the volume they put out is more than adequate for ones personal enjoyment. I have a 60% hearing loss and have no problem with these speakers. The speakers are compact and nice looking. The speakers are a bit awkward to carry, a little handle on each of them would have been terrific, for the clumsy, such as myself. These speakers are an excellent buy and can surely be put to good use as you can use them with anything that has a mini jack. Another nice thing about these speakers are the fact that they are passive speakers and never need batteries.
not too shabby by RJ Soni
I got these speakers a few months ago and I use them very often. It’s true they aren’t very loud but they do get decent sound. I would say they are very similar to that of a desktop computer’s speakers. How loud they are really all depends on hat you are plugging them into. For instance, if you plug it into your iPod vs. some large high energy system the one with more power is going to have the larger sound. What I really like about this system is that it doesn’t require batteries. I would recommend them.
